1. What This Program Is

The 2026 TIPS (Technology Incubator Program for Startup) support program is designed to provide governmental research and development (R&D) funding to technology-based startups that attract investments from TIPS operators, which are private venture capital firms. The primary focus is to promote the establishment of startups by advanced tech personnel and to aid in the development of innovative technologies.

The program is divided into a General Track and a Deep Tech Track, with the latter providing a larger scale of R&D funding to startups in 12 major new industry sectors. In addition to R&D funding, applicants can also receive support for commercialization and overseas marketing, enabling comprehensive growth from technology development to market entry.

This program provides R&D funding and commercialization funding.

R&D Funding:

– General Track: Up to 800 million KRW

– Deep Tech Track: Up to 1.5 billion KRW

Startup Commercialization and Overseas Marketing Support: An additional maximum of 300 million KRW support can be received apart from the R&D funding

The support is provided in the form of R&D and commercialization funding.

Note: In addition to this funding, the company will incur self-financing costs (cash and in-kind). The exact self-financing ratio must be confirmed in the announcement document.
